To grasp the new developing trend of higher education, meet the requirements of talents cultivation in the community and promote the progress of the discipline of civil engineering and architecture, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture was founded in May, 2011. This faculty has long been active in doing scientific research and has undertaken large and medium sized civil engineering and hydraulic and hydropower design construction projects including Qinghai-Tibet Railway, South to North Water Diversion and Three Gorges Dam. This faculty also actively implements international cooperation and exchanges. It has signed cooperative agreements and established good partnerships with universities and research institutions of Japan, U.S.A., U.K. and Australia. In 2010 it signed Dual Degree Joint Program agreement with University Woverhampton in U.K., through which graduates can be granted diplomas from both universities.

This faculty is comprised of 5 departments, 1 research center, 2 research bases and 4 labs. It offers 6 bachelor's programs, 10 master's programs and 6 doctoral programs. 1225 undergraduates, 239 postgraduates and 53 doctoral students are studying here. It also has a faculty number of 23 professors, 22 associate professors.
